Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We design with keyboard navigation, screen readers, color contrast and reduced motion in mind.

Accessibility tools on this site

Use the accessibility button in the corner of every page to:

• Increase or decrease text size.
• Switch to high contrast or dark reading mode.
• Underline links, use a more readable font and increase text spacing.
• Pause animations, switch to grayscale and enlarge the cursor.

Known limitations

Some third-party content, such as embedded maps, may not be fully accessible. We are working with providers to improve this.

Why this site is built the way it is

Our customers are disproportionately older adults, people with low vision, people using screen magnification, and family members reading this on a phone in a hospital corridor. The site is built for that audience rather than retro-fitted for it.

• Base body text is set larger than a typical marketing site, and everything is sized in rem so the reader settings scale it.
• Interactive targets are at least 48px tall, and most primary actions are 56px.
• Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG 2.2 AA, including text over photographs, which always sits on a scrim.
• Every interactive component works from the keyboard, including the mega menu, the drawer, the accordions and the decision aid.
• The mobile action dock is positioned so it never overlaps the accessibility widget or the cookie banner.
• Motion respects prefers-reduced-motion. Nothing moves that cannot be stopped.

The reader settings panel

The accessibility button in the bottom-left corner of every page opens a panel with text size, high contrast, dark reading mode, underlined links, a more readable font, increased spacing, paused motion, greyscale, a stronger focus outline and a large cursor. Your choices are remembered on this device.
